Brussels
Lunch
Project

In a city of 1.3 million people, 184 different nationalities are represented in Brussels.

From Poles to Portuguese, from Moroccans to Congolese, people from all over the world have made a home here. While many expats and immigrants live next to each other, many don’t even know each other’s names.

How it Works

Meet

I meet one person from each of Brussels’ 184 nationalities.

Eat

We share lunch in a restaurant that feels like home to them.

Write

Their perspective on the city, shaped by our conversation.

The Lunches

New lunches are published regularly.
Each one is a conversation, a meal, and a perspective on Brussels.

THE BOOK

At the end of the year, I’ll publish a “pocket” book. It will be an alternative guidebook, sharing the perspectives of people who now call this place home.
